Can you get any sort of trace as to what it is doing? It is not crashing, but is only stopping at this point. I can change VTs and type keys etc., but can not access the system because it is not fully up at this point (I can only [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] to reboot the box). What I should do to get these traces? If I try to boot up this box with "acpi=off" then it will not go past a message "RAMDISK:Compressed image found at block 0". After I removed kudzu from init 5 service startup and started the box with standard settings, the system will stop on message "Bringing up interface eth0:". After disabling Network and Cups what stopped also, I got the box up. OK, I've found the bug - "alias usb-controller ohci-hcd" in
/etc/modules.conf.

How is 2.6.7-1.494.2.2 doing for you? And for all that's good quit dropping huge chunks of logs into the comments, attach them instead, please. fixed in the 2.6.9 update ? Seems OK now. |
