Poornima G 2014-01-02 12:22:22 UTC Doc Text Cause: The logs from all the SAMBA clients that access a given gluster volume go to a single log file.

Consequence: When the logs of all the SAMBA clients goto a single log file, debugging becomes difficult.

Fix: In Samba configuration file, one of the options of gluster type is log file, the value of this option is now allowed to contain any variables, thus allowing user to customise the gluster log file name.

Result: By default there will be a log file created, for every SAMBA client, the log file name will have the clients' internet name appended.

Consequence: When the logs of all the SAMBA clients goto a single log file, debugging becomes difficult.

Result: By default there will be a log file created, for every SAMBA client, the log file name will have the clients' internet name appended.
Previously, all the SAMBA clients having access to a specific Red Hat Storage volume would log messages in a single log file making it difficult to debug issues.
With this fix, by default, a log file is created for every SAMBA client and the log file name will have the clients' internet name appended to it making it easy to identify.
