| Ales Ledvinka | 2014-08-19 11:40:13 UTC | Doc Text | Feature: Reason: Using ipmitool as part of software stack allow modification of it's parameters without the need to change the software stack requiring the ipmitool. Result: Environment variables were unified and the usage was extended. Environment variable: IPMITOOL_* takes precedence over IPMI_*. The varibles present before this change: IPMI_KGKEY, IPMI_PASSWORD, IPMITOOL_PASSWORD. Variables added with this change to unify the namespace usage: IPMITOOL_KGKEY. Variables added with this change to allow passing of options from the environmental variable: IPMITOOL_OPTS, IPMI_OPTS | |

| Doc Text | Feature: Reason: Using ipmitool as part of software stack allow modification of it's parameters without the need to change the software stack requiring the ipmitool. Variables added with this change to allow passing of options from the environmental variable: IPMITOOL_OPTS, IPMI_OPTS | Previously, the ipmitool default timeout values set an insufficient time period. As a consequence, during retries, ipmitool could terminate unexpectedly with a segmentation fault, or produce a nonsensical error message. With this update, the ipmitool options passed from the environment variable are parsed correctly from the IPMITOOL_OPTS and IPMI_OPTS variables, IPMITOOL_* variables take precedence over IPMI_* variables. As a result, ipmitool no longer crashes in the described situation. | ||
