Red Hat Bugzilla 2014-02-06 10:28:49 UTC Doc Type Known Issue Bug Fix
Shyamsundar 2014-02-06 10:34:08 UTC Doc Text Cause:
When rebalance is running and an file descriptor for a file that is currently under rebalance is open and there is no IO on the file but a lookup on the file, then the files cached sub volume may change to the new brick, causing any future writes/reads to this file sending an valid fd on an different sub volume than one in which it was open, causing an EINVAL error to be returned to the write or read operation.
Consequence:
Write or read operations may get an EINVAL error on the operation when rebalance is migrating that file.
Fix:
The client could retry the operation or close and reopen the file descriptor to alleviate the situation.
Result:
Future reads/writes on the older opened fd will fail with EINVAL, newer fd's opened would succeed.
