Reason: User has to enter a long command every time stops and a starts a container. now the data volume container will have all the default volume options assigned to it. so when running the RHGS container one can use --volumes-from <data-volume-container>. now all the volumes bind mounted to data volume container will be bind mounted to RHGS container. Also having this feature helps our use case of running the script(setup.sh). We start data volume container with setup.sh and this runs the script which moves the backup of gluster configuration file to expected directories. Result: Now setup.sh will not be need to run manually. docker run command becomes comparatively easy. | |
