Consequence: This caused the upgrade of the overcloud to fail, or rather to timeout, with heat giving the error "ERROR: Timed out waiting for a reply to message ID 84a44ca3ed724eda991ba689cc364852". Specifically the upgrade initialisation step failed as this is executed first as part of the overcloud upgrade process. Fix: Correctly restart the openstack-nova-api service as part of the undercloud upgrade as at https://review.openstack.org/#/c/293960/ which is available with python-tripleoclient-0.3.4-1.el7ost.noarch Result: This allows the overcloud upgrade to proceed without the timeout. |
