Leslie Satenstein 2016-05-26 00:25:33 UTC Doc Text Prior to F24 any addition of a mount point to /etc/fstab
resulted in the dynamic creation of that mount point on the system. This is broken in F24. You must now pre-define the mount point before enabling the new mount point entry within the /etc/fstab.
By the way, if the mount point pre-existed, it was used.
After removing that added entry from the /etc/fstab, the dynamically created mount point remained.

This has been the functionality of all Fedora versions up until Fedora 24.
