Lucas Alvares Gomes 2016-07-26 15:03:42 UTC Doc Text Feature:

Allow finding a suitable disk device to deploy the image onto by using it's name/path.

Reason:

Some devices does have a persistent names (e.g RAID), this feature allows operators to use these names when specifying which disk Ironic should deploy the image onto instead of having to use the disk WWN, serial, model etc...

Result:

Operators are now allowed to use the device name/path to specify which device Ironic should deploy the image onto.

Operators are now allowed to use the device name/path to specify which device Ironic should deploy the image onto.
With this update, a new enhancement allows finding a suitable disk device for the Bare Metal Provisioning service to deploy the image onto by using its name or path. Some devices have persistent names (for example, RAID) and this new feature allows operators to use these names instead of having to use the disk WWN, serial, model names and so on.
