Vendula Poncova 2017-05-11 15:41:49 UTC Doc Text Feature: Set the raid --chunksize in a kickstart file to specify the chunk size for a RAID array.

Reason: The default value of the chunk size does not have to be suitable for user's use case and it could have a negative impact on performance of his RAID array.

Result: If user wants to specify the chunk size for a RAID array, he should add the --chunksize argument with a chunk size in KiB to the raid command in a kickstart file. When the RAID device is assembled, the specified chunk size will be used instead of the default one.

*Anaconda* enables the specification of the chunksize of a *raid* array

This enhancement allows setting the “raid --chunksize” command in a kickstart file to specify the chunk size in KiB for a *RAID* array. Using the "--chunksize" option causes the specified chunk size to be used instead of the default one. As a result, it prevents the default value of the chunk size from having a negative impact on the performance of the *RAID* array.

*Anaconda* enables to set RAID chunk size

This update allows the user to set the "--chunksize" parameter for the "raid" utility in a kickstart file to specify the chunk size of a RAID storage, in KiB. Using the "--chunksize" parameter overrides the default one. As a result, the new chunk size can prevent a negative performance impact the default value might have.
