Target Release 11.0 (Ocata) 10.0 (Newton)
Version 11.0 (Ocata) 10.0 (Newton)
Doc Text Feature: In OSP10 it is now possible to deploy Ceph storage nodes which don't have the same list of block devices by using node-specific hiera.

Reason: When deploying Ceph storage nodes with OSPd, not all storage nodes may have an identical list of OSD block devices.

Result: By using node-specific hiera entries in within the overcloud deployment Heat templates non-similar OSD servers may be deployed.

You can now use node-specific hiera to deploy Ceph storage nodes which do not have the same list of block devices. As a result, you can use node-specific hiera entries within the overcloud deployment's Heat templates to deploy non-similar OSD servers.
