The 'openstack overcloud stack update' command has a lengthy startup time. Once the command is run, it can take a couple of minutes for there to be an indication that the command is working. This is normal.
Consequence:
User unsure if command is doing anything.
Workaround (if any):
None.
Result: Less than ideal user experience.
