| Martin Babinsky | 2016-11-09 08:52:22 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: A regression in principal name normalization caused `ipa passwd` command to stop automatically lowercasing usernames. Consequence: Winsync users wishing to change their passwords using mixed-case usernames were unable to use `ipa passwd` since their principals stored in lowercased form were not matched by the command. Fix: The user principal normalizer was fixed to automatically lowercase incoming user names. Result: ipa passwd correctly handles mixed-case users coming from Winsync agreements. | |

| Marc Muehlfeld | 2016-11-16 06:53:19 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: A regression in principal name normalization caused `ipa passwd` command to stop automatically lowercasing usernames. | Previously, due to a bug in the principal name normalization, the "ipa passwd" command failed to convert user names to lower case. As a consequence, users synchronized from Active Directory (AD) with a mixed case user name were unable to change their passwords. The user principal name normalization has been fixed and as a result, the "ipa passwd" command now works correctly. |
