Chris Snyder 2018-03-05 21:15:06 UTC Doc Text Cause: When virt-who is configured to report on RHEV hosts with the option 'hypervisor_id' set to 'hostname', virt-who will gather and report on the user configured "name" property of the RHEV systems.

Consequence:
Virt-who will not accurately report the hostname of the RHEV system(s) leading to potential difficulty finding the correct system in either the Customer Portal or Satellite. Subscriptions for these hosts should still work however.

Fix:
Virt-who now reads the 'address' field provided by RHEVM to discover and report the correct hostname.

Result:
The use of the 'hostname' value for the 'hypervisor_id' option should now match it's meaning elsewhere in virt-who.

Doc Text When virt-who is configured to report on RHEV hosts with the option 'hypervisor_id' set to 'hostname', virt-who will gather and report on the user configured "name" property of the RHEV systems.

Virt-who now reads the 'address' field provided by RHEVM to discover and report the correct hostname.
Virt-who now reads the 'address' field provided by RHEVM to discover and report the correct hostname.

Previously, if the *virt-who* utility reported on a Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) host and the "hypervisor_id=hostname" option was used, *virt-who* displayed an incorrect host name value. This update ensures that *virt-who* reads the correct field value in the described circumstances and as a result, the proper host name is displayed.
