Zane Bitter 2017-01-27 15:38:36 UTC Doc Text Cause: If heat-engine was shut down (with SIGINT) while starting up, some of the things it tried to clean up might not have been created yet.

Consequence: An error message and stack trace with the message "AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'groups'" was logged.

Fix: heat-engine now tries only clean up only what has been created.

Result: No stack trace on shutdown.

Consequence: An error message and stack trace with the message "AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'groups'" was logged.

Fix: heat-engine now tries only clean up only what has been created.

Result: No stack trace on shutdown.
In the previous version, heat-engine reported and logged the "NoneType" attribute error and left a stack trace, when it was terminated on start-up, because it tried to clean up processes that had not been created at that time. This behaviour was corrected and now heat-engine shuts down gracefully.

This behaviour was corrected and now heat-engine shuts down gracefully. Previously, when heat-engine was terminated during startup, it tried to clean up processes that had not been started. Consequently, heat-engine reported and logged the "NoneType" attribute error. This behaviour has been corrected, and heat-engine now shuts down gracefully.
