Dimitri Savineau 2020-04-16 13:43:03 UTC Doc Text Feature: Reuse Filestore OSD dedicated journal device for Bluestore OSD db.

Reason: When using dedicated devices for Filestore OSD journal (like HDD for data and SSD for journal) we wan't to keep the same configuration when migrating to Bluestore OSD.

Result: After converting Filestore OSD to Bluestore OSD with dedicated journal devices, the devices are reuse for the Bluestore OSD db configuration.

.Retain configuration for dedicated journal devices when migrating from Filestore OSD to Bluestore

Previously, dedicated journal devices for Filestore OSD could not be reused when migrating to Bluestore OSD DB. An example of a dedicated device configuration is using a HDD for data and an SSD for journaling.

With this update, dedicated journal devices retain their configuration during the migration, so that they can be reused with the Bluestore OSD DB.
