| Sridhar Seshasayee | 2020-04-15 07:31:14 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: The logging of slow ops in cluster logs was removed as part of a code re-factoring effort in Ceph mimic release. As a result, future releases including nautilus inherited the absence of slow ops logging in cluster logs. Consequence: Due to the code re-factoring effort, slow ops logging was limited to either osd or mon logs. Warnings probably showed up in the Ceph health summary outputs but again with limited details. The information available lacked details on the slow op type making debugging and corrective actions difficult. Fix: Cluster logging of slow ops and its type was re-introduced with the same level of detail prior to Ceph mimic release. Result: Cluster logging of slow ops post the fix now show the same level of details prior to Ceph mimic which will help in debugging and take proper corrective action(s). | |

They were logged in the `osd` or `mon` logs, but lacked the expected level of detail. With this release, slow ops are being logged in cluster logs, at a level of detail that makes the logs useful for debugging. |
