| Guillaume Abrioux | 2020-09-11 12:29:39 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: the 'zap' action in ceph_volume module in ceph-ansible playbook didn't handle the osd_fsid parameter. Consequence: OSD wasn't zapped properly (leaving lv layers on devices) when ceph-ansible shrink-osd playbook was asked to shrink it based on osd_fsid. Fix: ceph_volume module now handle and take care of the osd_fsid parameter when passed in combination with 'zap' action Result: OSDs can be shrinked properly and no LV layers are left on devices. | |

| Aron Gunn | 2020-09-11 20:38:56 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: the 'zap' action in ceph_volume module in ceph-ansible playbook didn't handle the osd_fsid parameter. Consequence: OSD wasn't zapped properly (leaving lv layers on devices) when ceph-ansible shrink-osd playbook was asked to shrink it based on osd_fsid. Fix: ceph_volume module now handle and take care of the osd_fsid parameter when passed in combination with 'zap' action Result: OSDs can be shrinked properly and no LV layers are left on devices. | .The Ceph Ansible `shrink-osd.yml` playbook does not clean the Ceph OSD properly The `zap` action done by the `ceph_volume` module does not handle the `osd_fsid` parameter. This caused the Ceph OSD to be improperly zapped by leaving logical volumes on the underlying devices. With this release, the `zap` action properly handles the `osd_fsid` parameter, and the Ceph OSD can be cleaned properly after shrinking. |
