avan 2021-06-24 07:56:25 UTC Doc Text Cause: Dashboard frontend just takes default CRUSH root children ignoring other CRUSH types like datacenter, zone, rack, etc.
Consequence: Crush map viewer in dashboard does not displays OSD's which are not part of the ‘default’ CRUSH root.

Workaround (if any):

Result: Dashboard now displays the same tree view as output for `ceph osd tree`.

.The {storage-product} Dashboard displays OSDs of only the default CRUSH root children

The {storage-product} Dashboard considers the default CRUSH root children ignoring other CRUSH types like datacenter, zones, and rack. As a result, the CRUSH map viewer on the dashboard does not display OSDs which are not part of the default CRUSH root.

The tree view of OSDs of the storage cluster on the Ceph dashboard is different from `ceph osd tree` output.

.The {storage-product} Dashboard displays OSDs same as the `ceph osd tree` output

Previously, the {storage-product} Dashboard considered the default CRUSH root children ignoring other CRUSH types like datacenter, zones, rack, and other types. As a result, the CRUSH map viewer on the dashboard would not display OSDs which are not part of the default CRUSH root.

With this release, the tree view of OSDs of the storage cluster on the Ceph dashboard now displays the same as the `ceph osd tree` output.
