Sanjal Katiyar 2022-07-13 07:30:27 UTC Doc Text Cause: We maintain 2 releases (branches) for ODF... one for {OCP n + ODF n} and other branch (compatibility) for {OCP n+1 + ODF n}.
When we are updating OCP version, we now need to update basePath for ConsolePlugin CR as well, which means we now need to point to "/compatibility/".

Consequence: Storage > Data Foundation tab will be missing if we do not point to correct basePath based on OCP version.

Workaround (if any): Yes,
Patch the "ConsolePlugin" CR (name: "odf-console").
"spec.service.basePath" should be "/compatibility/".

Result: After patching and reloading the webpage, we should be able to see "Data Foundation" tab under "Storage".

The OpenShift Data Foundation dashboard under Storage is not visible after upgrading the OpenShift Container Platform and OpenShift Data Foundation clusters from 4.10 to OpenShift Container Platform 4.11. This is caused because there were two release branches being maintained for OpenShift Data Foundation, one for current release and other branch for next version of OpenShift Container Platform to maintain compatibility, while upgrading the OpenShift Container Platform version, the console plugin base path was not updated for the compatibility branch.

Workaround: Patch the console plugin by running the following command: oc patch ConsolePlugin odf-console --type json -p '[{"op": "replace", "path": "/spec/service/basePath", "value": "/compatibility/"}]'

After patching and reloading the webpage, you should be able to see the "Data Foundation" tab under "Storage".

Previously, the OpenShift Data Foundation dashboard under Storage was not visible after upgrading the OpenShift Container Platform and OpenShift Data Foundation clusters from version 4.10 to OpenShift Container Platform 4.11. This was due to OpenShift Data Foundation operator not using the correct modules when upgrading either OpenShift Container Platform or OpenShift Data Foundation. With this update, the OpenShift Data Foundation operator has fixed and now references the correct user interface modules after OpenShift Container Platform gets upgraded.
