| Doc Text | Feature: the crush_device_class field has been added to OSD specs and the location field (referring to initial crush location of the host) had been added to host specs. Reason: So users can have cephadm set the crush_device_class for OSDs created by the OSD spec automatically and have hosts be added with the correct initial crush location. Result: If a user sets the location field in a host spec, cephadm will run `ceph osd crush add-bucket` with hostname and given location to add it as a bucket in the crush map. For OSDs, they will be set with the given crush_device_class in the crush map upon creation. Note that this is only for OSDs created based on the spec with the field set. It does not affect already deployed OSDs. | |||
