| Doc Text | Feature: cephadm commands run on the host from the cephadm mgr module now have timeouts. This means if one of these commands were to hang, the user would eventually get a health warning about it failing. The timeout is configurable with the "mgr/cephadm/default_cephadm_command_timeout" setting and defaults to 15 minutes (900, as the setting is in seconds). Reason: So users would eventually be made aware of any of these cephadm commands hanging. There were occasional issues in the past where one of these commands would hang indefinitely and it was difficult for users to notice and deal with the issue. This should bring a bit more transparency to these issues. Result: Cephadm commands run on the host from the mgr module should no longer be able to hang forever, and should eventually timeout and cause a health warning to be raised in the event something is blocking them from completing. |
