| Doc Text | Cause: Cephadm does not manage the host OS Consequence: It is not checked during upgrade if the RHCS version the user is upgrading to is supported on the OS of the cluster's nodes Workaround (if any): Users can manually check what OS the RHCS version is supported on and follow the recommended upgrade path for OS and RHCS versions. Result: Cephadm will upgrade the cluster without raising any warning or error even when the host OS of the nodes is unsupported for that RHCS release |

| Eliska | 2023-01-25 08:46:56 UTC | Doc Text | Cause: Cephadm does not manage the host OS Consequence: It is not checked during upgrade if the RHCS version the user is upgrading to is supported on the OS of the cluster's nodes Workaround (if any): Users can manually check what OS the RHCS version is supported on and follow the recommended upgrade path for OS and RHCS versions. Result: Cephadm will upgrade the cluster without raising any warning or error even when the host OS of the nodes is unsupported for that RHCS release | .The Cephadm fails the upgrade of the {storage-product} version if the OS is unsupported Currently, Cephadm does not manage the host operating system (OS), therefore, during an upgrade, it does not verify if the {storage-product} version the user is upgrading to is supported on the OS of the Ceph cluster nodes. As a workaround, you can manually check the OS on which the {storage-product} version is supported, and follow the recommended upgrade path for OS and {storage-product} versions. This ensures that the Cephadm upgrades the cluster without raising any warning or error, even when the host OS of the nodes is unsupported for that {storage-product} release. |
