If you upgraded from Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) 16.2 with ML2/OVS and trunked ports to RHOSP 17.1, and then migrated from ML2/OVS to ML2/OVN, VM instances become inaccessible after live migrations. Currently, there is no workaround.

Currently, there is no workaround. If you migrate from ML2/OVS with trunked ports
to ML2/OVN, VM instances are affected by an issue that leaves them inaccessible after live migrations, virtual machine instance reboots, or Compute node reboots. Currently, there is no workaround.

On environments migration from ML2/OVS to ML2/OVN, Trunk VM instances can use operations like live migration, shutdown and reboots without any issues. They are also fully working after compute reboots.

Doc Text On environments migration from ML2/OVS to ML2/OVN, Trunk VM instances can use operations like live migration, shutdown and reboots without any issues. They are also fully working after compute reboots. Before this update, an instance with a trunk port could become inaccessible after a operations such as a live migration in an environment that had been migrated from ML2/ovs to OVN. Now, you can live migrate, shutdown, or reboot instances with a trunk port without issues.
