1. surf to a page, such as: http://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,21492.89460.html
2. scroll down and, if necessary, scroll the previous or subsequent page(s) and, before long...
3. Gah.

This appears to be a new problem since firefox 52 came out. I have never seen this error before. Reloading the page causes a repeat. The pages work just fine in Google Chrome from the Google repo.

Please try to set browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false in about:config.

OK, I will give that a try later on. I installed Fedora 26 alpha last night onto a clean partition and I am using that now. The problem has not yet occurred in Fedora 26, not even on that very same site, even though I have not made the setting change you have indicated.

I will boot into Fedora 25 later on some time and give that a try and tell you what happened.

Very strange! That setting is already set to the default of false! Even stranger, there is another entry immediately beneath that one, called browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 and it is set to true and is user-set, but I never set such a thing (unless it is referring to me having disabled the suggested sites, which I DID disable)!

browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 is set by e10s rollout extension which enables e10s for selected users - which seems to be you :) Anyway, the e10s can be disabled. Can you please attach output of about:support? Thanks.

You can force disable the e10s by browser.tabs.remote.force-disable pref. Go to about:config, right click and add a new boolean value.

I think it might be smarter for me to wait with the output until the problem occurs on Fedora 26, since that is what I am using since Sunday night (~36 hours ago). I no longer use Fedora 25. I don't see much point in me rebooting into the old system that I no longer use to solve a problem that has not, as yet, affected me in the current OS that I will be using from now on.

I can confirm that the suggestion from comment #5 (adding boolean browser.tabs.remote.force-disable as true) solves the constant crashing on Javascript-heavy pages for me (youtube works again, as does shop.rossmann-fotowelt.de, a chemist's chain store offering photoprints).

The e10s is still a fresh technology. New Firefox 53 comes out next week, please give e10s a try and disable if that still crashes.

You can also try latest nightly (trunk) Firefox package which is Firefox 55, via our Flatpak repo. How-to is here: https://firefox-flatpak.mojefedora.cz/ and e10s  should work fine there.

I will hold off changing settings (I am adept at doing so, but not so adept at setting them back lol) until I have experimented with the post-Easter Firefox 53 release.
