Diagram in oo draw which doesn't transfer to oo writer none

Description Paul F. Johnson 2005-03-15 13:43:53 UTC
Description of problem:
If I create a diagram in OOo draw, select all and group them, select the group,
press ctrl C and then paste it into an OOo writer document, the grouping is not
kept and the picture has to be ungrouped and parts moved manually.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.9.83

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an image in OOo draw with some text, select all and group
2. Press ctrl C and copy into an OOo writer doc
3.

Actual results:
The grouping and positions are out of place. The picture has to be ungrouped and
components moved. The image is also reduced in size from draw to writer. I have
the zoom set at 100% on both draw and writer.

Expected results:
The image pasted should be the same as the one in OOo draw

I'm not seeing this in 1.9.84-1 which I'm building to push to rawhide at the
moment, so it might be fixed. But can you attach a sample drawing which when
copied and pasted into writer reproduces the problem.

Diagram in oo draw which doesn't transfer to oo writer

Okay, it's xml, I guess that will be fine as plain text. If it isn't, let me
know.

Open it up in OOo draw, select the group and copy it to OO writer. It should
get rescaled and come out rather naff.

Ah hah, I see it, the internal positioning is all wrong afterwards. I've
submitted this as http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45159.

As a workaround you can use paste->special in writer and paste as wmf. That'll
look better, though of course you loose the grouping/ungrouping ability as its
not a single wmf.
