Description Marty Shannon 2001-02-20 21:49:26 UTC
> Frame buffer works fine for install, but when I try to configure X, it
> doesn't figure out the exact model of the ATI Rage Mobility P/M 2x AGP,
> and it doesn't detect the 1280X LCD screen, and even after I get all
> that configured, the size/depth configuration doesn't offer a 1280x1024

Comment 1 Glen Foster 2001-02-21 15:08:47 UTC
This defect is considered MUST-FIX for Florence Gold release

Comment 2 Mike A. Harris 2001-02-24 14:14:57 UTC
Please try our latest beta and see if that fixes it for you, if not
please attach your Xserver log and XF86config-4 to this bugzilla
report.

Also, attach the output of both "lspci -v" and "lspci -vn" please.

Um, ok, where do I find the log?

Comment 6 Preston Brown 2001-02-27 23:18:24 UTC
are you saying the XF86Config-4 you included works fine?

Comment 7 Marty Shannon 2001-02-27 23:25:59 UTC
Yes, the XF86Config-4 I included works perfectly.

Comment 8 Bill Nottingham 2001-02-28 23:57:29 UTC
The log file is in /var/log/XFree86.0.log

Comment 9 Bill Nottingham 2001-02-28 23:59:49 UTC
Does Xconfigurator work for you after the install?

If it doesn't, does editing
/usr/X11R6/share/Xconfigurator/MonitorsDB

and changing the line for your display from:
Dell; Dell 1280X Laptop Display Panel; 0; 31.5-90.0; 60.0; 1
to:
Dell; Dell 1280X Laptop Display Panel; 0; 31.5-90.0; 59.0-85.0; 1

work?

Comment 10 Preston Brown 2001-03-01 21:35:39 UTC
fixed in 4.9.15 and later.
