Description Paul Lambert 2010-07-19 01:18:50 UTC
Description of problem:
sshfs locks up on mounting and times out

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
fuse-sshfs.i686 2.2-5.fc12
kernel.i686 2.6.33.6-147.fc13

How reproducible:
Everytime sshfs is used to mount server file system

Steps to Reproduce:
1.sshfs ME: /home/HostDisk
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:
This worked successfully on FE-12

Additional info:
In searching for the RPM I thought it odd that the only RPM for sshfs was for FC12. I installed the FC12 using yum from the repo updates-testing. FC12 is what was loaded.

Comment 1 Paul Lambert 2010-07-21 14:51:40 UTC
Output form sshfs with fuse debug enabled. The debug statement containing GETATTR (3) is generated when I attempt to perform a "ls" on the mounted file system. The terminal window freezes at this point until the file system is unmounted.

Comment 2 Paul Lambert 2010-07-22 03:33:00 UTC
This matter is resolved if the IP address of the virbr0 is used instead of the cpuName.localdomain. sshfs does not appear to resolve names when run on a guest VM. sshfs user.122.1 /mnt_point works

Comment 3 Bug Zapper 2011-06-01 13:30:27 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 4 Bug Zapper 2011-06-29 13:18:46 UTC
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 5 Peter Lemenkov 2011-09-22 12:53:42 UTC
Could you, please, try latest fuse-sshfs from updates-testing with additional parameter - 'delay_connect'

Comment 6 Fedora End Of Life 2013-04-03 20:08:14 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle.
Changing version to '19'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)

More information and reason for this action is here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping/Fedora19
