Description Tim Waugh 2010-07-19 12:08:52 UTC
Description of problem:
Can't correctly copy and paste a word including a trailing space.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evolution-2.28.3-8.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start a new email
2.In the body, type "foo bar", press enter, then type "bar"
3.Highlight "foo " (including the space)
4.Press Ctrl-C to copy that.
5.Position the cursor at the beginning of the second line.
6.Press Ctrl-V to paste it.

Actual results:
"foo" is inserted, making "foobar"

Expected results:
"foo " is inserted, making "foo bar".

Additional information:
Another weird thing is double-clicking to select a word, and then moving the mouse cursor. I'd expect that to highlight multiple words, but instead it reverts to single-click behaviour, undoing the selection I saw prior to moving the mouse cursor.

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2010-07-19 12:37:40 UTC
This issue has been proposed when we are only considering blocker
issues in the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. It has
been denied for the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release.

** If you would still like this issue considered for the current
release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on
your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next
Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. **

Comment 4 RHEL Program Management 2011-01-07 15:50:01 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to
address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to
ask your support representative to propose this request, if
appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux. If you would like it considered as an
exception in the current release, please ask your support
representative.
