# yum install rpm-build

What gets installed depends on the defaults of a given distro version + choices you make during the installation, rpm-build package wont get installed on a "plain desktop" installation (nor should it).

Oh and yes there's a (known) packaging bug wrt the translated rpmbuild manual pages which should go into rpm-build package but that's another story.

Hi Panu,

thanks for the support. You are right, I installed only a plain-desktop F14. "yum install rpm-build" was the right hint.
