There were two module imports that had name collisions.This meant that the keyboard layout would not persist because the keyboard config didn't get loaded during boot. There is now a different module import, which allows the keyboard config can now be loaded at boot.

Description haiyang,dong 2013-08-26 02:00:53 UTC
Description of problem:
Clean install rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20130725.0.el6 and login it. Then choose "German"
as the keyboard layout to apply to this system.After configure it success, using German
keyboard to check this configuration result, German keyboard can work on this system.

But after reboot rhev-h, it will use "U.S English" as keyboard layout. Although the content of
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard didn't change:
[root@dhcp-9-84 admin]# cat /etc/sysconfig/keyboard
KEYTABLE="de"
MODEL="pc105"
LAYOUT="de"
and the current active keyboard layout shown "German" in Keyboard page.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20130725.0.el6

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual results:
rhev-h will change the user custom keyboard layout into "U.S English" after reboot

Expected results:
rhev-h will still use the user custom keyboard layout to apply this system after reboot

Additional info:
No this issue in rhev-h 6.4.z, so it's a regression bug.

Comment 3 Fabian Deutsch 2013-09-02 09:07:09 UTC
The problem was a name conflict between the built-in system and the imported system (ovirt.node.utils.system) module.

Tested as follows:
1. Install rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20130725.0.el6
2. Update ovirtfunctions.py
3. Run:
/usr/libexec/ovirt-functions load_keyboard_config

The keymap is loaded.

Comment 5 haiyang,dong 2013-10-20 06:09:51 UTC
Test version:
rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131017.0.iso
ovirt-node-3.0.1-4.el6

Clean install rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131017.0.iso and login it. Then choose "German"
as the keyboard layout to apply to this system.After configure it success, using German
keyboard to check this configuration result, German keyboard can work on this system.

Also after reboot rhev-h, it will use "German" as keyboard layout on this system.And the content of
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard shown:
[root@dhcp-9-84 admin]# cat /etc/sysconfig/keyboard
KEYTABLE="de"
MODEL="pc105"
LAYOUT="de"
and the current active keyboard layout shown "German" in Keyboard page.

so rhev-h will not change the user custom keyboard layout into "U.S English" after reboot.this bug has been fixed, change the status of this bug from "ON_QA" to "VERIFIED".
