Fedora has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. Please switch to freerdp on Fedora: $ sudo yum install freerdp -y $ xfreerdp localhost FYI: http://remotebox.knobgoblin.org.uk/documentation.cgi Problem persists with 1.8.3-1 in Fedora 22. $ rpm -q rdesktop rdesktop-1.8.3-1.fc22.x86_64 $ rdesktop remotehost.example.com Failed to negotiate protocol, retrying with plain RDP. $ Remote host is running Windows Server 2008R2. .. same here with rdesktop-1.8.3-1.fc22, connecting to a Windows Server 2008R2 Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
