updated xrandr wrapper script for 3x display none

Description Rob Clark 2013-09-09 20:59:51 UTC
Intel IVB has support for driving 3 displays, but with some constraints that are not necessarily obvious to end users, and difficult to manage with current xrandr infrastructure. More specifically, two of the displays must use the same mode/pixclk and output type (ie. DP1 and DP2 or HDMI1 and HDMI2).

Created attachment 795757 [details]
updated xrandr wrapper script for 3x display

updated version of script at https://github.com/eugeni/ivb_mode_calc which supports finding a set of modes supported by the hw and setting that mode.

If run with no args, it will print possible mode combinations. If run w/ "-s WxH" it will try to find a matching mode that can be supported on the attached displays, and set that mode. (It first disables the outputs that it will be setting mode on, to avoid problems with a conflicting mode already active on the 2nd of the two displays to be set.)
