Currently, the plug-in is installed as a WAR file. This was done in 3.2.x because engine and the installer didn't facilitate installation as a co-requisite ear. As a result, modififications to application.xml in %pre/%post RPM scripts had to be made. An EAR is now installed alongside the manager ear.

Description Keith Robertson 2013-09-16 16:08:49 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently, the plug-in is installed as a WAR file. This was done in 3.2.x because engine and the installer didn't facilitate installation as a co-requisite ear.

As a result, we must modify application.xml in %pre/%post RPM scripts. This is sub-optimal but, is the only way to accomplish the goal.

In 3.3 and forward we believe it may be possible to install as an EAR alongside the RHEV-M ear. This bug tracks this effort.

keith - is this slated for 3.3? starting to be late if not in testing "right now"?

Comment 2 Keith Robertson 2013-10-03 14:28:32 UTC
We're done. Please provide 3.3 QA ACK so that we can get an official build out.
