Description Behnam [:ZWNJ] Esfahbod 2003-07-27 04:26:33 UTC
Description of problem:
when you are in a directory that contains file index.html, and you type:
...$ mozilla index.html
mozilla opens your page, iff you have a session open. else it wants to open URL
'index.html' and so cause an error.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.2.1 (redhat 9's default rpm)

How reproducible:
I don't know yet.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close all mozilla windows (session)
2. run a terminal and 'cd /var/www/manual/' (for example)
3. run 'mozilla index.html'

Actual results:
Wants to open wronge URN 'http://index.html'

Expected results:
Opening 'file:///.../index.html'

Additional info:
It could be Mozilla's bug, not RedHats.

Comment 1 Behnam [:ZWNJ] Esfahbod 2003-07-27 04:32:44 UTC
Mistake in example! (level 2 of steps to reproduce)
2. run a terminal and 'cd /var/www/manual/mod/mod_php4'

Comment 2 Christopher Blizzard 2003-09-03 15:41:14 UTC
Strange, I can't reproduce this. Every file I try works. Is index.html a link
or something? Maybe it's not world-readable?

Comment 3 Behnam [:ZWNJ] Esfahbod 2003-09-03 20:19:47 UTC
I've tested the problem with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b)
Gecko/20030813 now, and it's same as 1.2.1.

I have Mozilla 1.5b installed manualy on /usr with a little patch.

I've checked reproducing instruction again just now on 2 systems:
- Mozilla 1.5b on RedHat 9 (updated) with Fedorra RPMs;
- Mozilla 1.2.1 on RedHat 9 (updated);

Any idea?

Comment 4 Behnam [:ZWNJ] Esfahbod 2003-09-03 20:21:54 UTC
As I said in instruction, you should close mozilla session before typing
"mozilla index.html". If you have a current session, it works fine!

Red Hat apologizes that these issues have not been resolved yet. We do want to
make sure that no important bugs slip through the cracks.

Red Hat Linux 7.3 and Red Hat Linux 9 are no longer supported by Red Hat, Inc.
They are maintained by the Fedora Legacy project (http://www.fedoralegacy.org/)
for security updates only. If this is a security issue, please reassign to the
'Fedora Legacy' product in bugzilla. Please note that Legacy security update
support for these products will stop on December 31st, 2006.

If this is not a security issue, please check if this issue is still present
in a current Fedora Core release. If so, please change the product and version
to match, and check the box indicating that the requested information has been
provided.

If you are currently still running Red Hat Linux 7.3 or 9, please note that
Fedora Legacy security update support for these products will stop on December
31st, 2006. You are strongly advised to upgrade to a current Fedora Core release
or Red Hat Enterprise Linux or comparable. Some information on which option may
be right for you is available at http://www.redhat.com/rhel/migrate/redhatlinux/.

Any bug still open against Red Hat Linux 7.3 or 9 at the end of 2006 will be
closed 'CANTFIX'. Again, if this bug still exists in a current release, or is a
security issue, please change the product as necessary. We thank you for your
help, and apologize again that we haven't handled these issues to this point.
