Looking at about:buildconfig in Firefox 24 on Fedora 19 (firefox-24.0-1.fc19.x86_64) I see "--disable-gstreamer" in the "Configure arguments" section. So to me that says gstreamer support is currently being disabled at compile time. All that would need to happen is a rebuild without the --disable-gstreamer option. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 843583 *** PING firefox 26 is still built with --disable-gstreamer (In reply to Harald Reindl from comment #3) > PING > > firefox 26 is still built with --disable-gstreamer It's becase of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=806917. If you want to help here feel free to attach patches for it. I can propagate it upstream and manage to review it. i wonder why fedora ships gstreamer-0.10 packages at all if maintainers insist in using the 1.0 packages even when upstream is not ready and prefer drop features instead use the available ressources of the distribution [root@rh:~]$ rpm -qa | grep gstreamer | grep -v gstreamer1 gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.19-11.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-ffmpeg-0.10.13-10.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-0.10.36-3.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-plugins-bad-free-0.10.23-17.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.31-9.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-python-0.10.22-4.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.36-4.fc19.x86_64 gstreamer-tools-0.10.36-3.fc19.x86_64 AFAIK gstreamer-0.10 has security issues (among other ones). But I'm not an expert here, better to ask gnome folks. |
