The installation process should only make relevant quick starts available. At the moment, users can choose both RTGov client and RTGov server in the same installation. It should not be possible to do this and, furthermore, only those quick starts relevant to the option selected should be made installed.

If I understand the bug correctly, you can make the argument that this is an installer bug and only relevant, working quickstarts should be installed based on user installed components. e.g. dtgov samples are only installed with dtgov runtime. No, I have to rephrase - I ahve an isnatalltion with FSW+RTGC and FSW+RTGS. RTGov quickstarts contains of multiple modules - some represents SY application, some are configuration packages for RTGov server - ip, epn etc. If I want to run a qs I need to deploy all modules. When I have all in one installtion then everything is deployed on one pile. If I have separated FSW and RTGS then I should deploy part of modules to rtgs and part of them to FSW. I am asking to modify Readme.txt files for modules to mark/clarify where each module should go in case of this setup. Agree with Alan, this is an installer issue. It should not be possible to install 'RTGov client' and 'RTGov server' in a single installation. NOTE: RTGov server is badly named, as it actually contains everything needed to monitor swyd apps in the same server. So any FSW installation should only contain the quickstarts relevant for the RTGov option selected, e.g. either client or all. Relevant quickstarts: activityclient - can be installed in client and/or server regardless of switchyard ordermgmt/app and ip - client or server, but only if switchyard installed policy/async - server only, regardless of switchyard policy/sync - client or server, but only if switchyard installed sla/* - server only, regardless of switchyard Kevin needs to follow up with Julian regarding this issue before updating the dev_ack flag. Resetting the flags back to the state it was before Oct-24- 2PM. There was an incorrect bulk update that I'm trying to fix. |
