Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Comment 1 Bill Sanford 2013-10-08 17:44:00 UTC
The guests were WinXP and Win7

Comment 2 Marc-Andre Lureau 2013-10-08 17:46:27 UTC
Please help localize the issue.

Does it work downgrading qxl driver?

Is it only windows->windows?

Have you tried with a RHEL6 client?

Comment 3 Bill Sanford 2013-10-08 17:48:58 UTC
Vimal saw this with a Fedora17 client.

Comment 4 Bill Sanford 2013-10-08 17:52:52 UTC
I just used a Fedora 19 client and see the same.

virt-viewer-0.5.6-1.fc19.x86_64

Comment 5 Christophe Fergeau 2013-10-08 18:19:22 UTC
resizing in win7 + spice-server-0.12.4-3.el6.x86_6 + qemu-kvm-rhev-0.12.1.2-2.406.el6.x86_64 + qxl 0.1-18/0.1.19 (same driver except for the whql sig) is working here with a f19 client.

Comment 6 Bill Sanford 2013-10-08 19:49:57 UTC
The RHEV SPICE agent is set to automatic start in the guest, but yet the service is NOT started after the tools-ISO is installed and reboots the VM.

any chance you could grab the vdagent log? thanks

Comment 8 Bill Sanford 2013-10-08 20:32:56 UTC
Marc-Andre,

I wrote another bug explaining that the RHEV Spice Agent is not started in the guest even after the reboot of the VM after the tools-ISO install.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1016861

Once this is restarted, it seems like everything is happy.

Comment 9 Marc-Andre Lureau 2013-10-08 20:48:04 UTC
so this bug should be closed.
