eyed3 should be needed only if you're encoding to MP3, which isn't the default and for which Fedora doesn't have software for anyway. If you encounter this error when encoding to something other than MP3, feel free to reopen this bug, noting which format you chose. thanks for spotting this. Indeed I convert to both ogg and mp3 by default, but did not notice that was the problem. It would be nice if abcde would generate an error/warning that explains a bit more clearly what the actual problem is. However, that would be more like a feature request I guess and no fedora packaging issue, so I agree this is not a fedora bug. Description of problem: after installing abcde it refuses to run and throws this error: >abcde which: no eyeD3 in (/home/jos/bin:./:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/home/jos/bin:./:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/home/jos/bin:./:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/lib64/ccache:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin) [ERROR] abcde: eyeD3 is not in your path. [INFO] Define the full path to the executable if it exists on your system. > Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): abcde-2.5.4-3.fc19.noarch How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install abcde from the f19 updates repository 2. try to run abcde in a terminal window Actual results: error, as shown above Expected results: the tool should start to grab the tracks from the inserted cd Additional info: after manual installation of python-eyed3-0.7.3-1.fc19.noarch the abcde program works again as expected. After inspection of the spec file, it seems to me a Requires line for python-eyed3 should be added.
