Description JDavis4102 2013-10-10 21:00:25 UTC
Description of problem: Package searches are slow to return results. Example would be php search on all channels takes 2 minutes to show results. It seems like the issue is regarding the search cache on the application server as pulling this info via the DB is fast.

How reproducible: Every time if you have the correct amount of packages and channels.

Steps to Reproduce:
Add a lot of packages to Spacewalk. Over 90,000 or so. Then perform a package search for php.

Actual results: 2 minutes waiting for results.

Expected results: instant or almost instant results.

Additional info: This has been an issue for a while. I would think before 1.6. Please let me know if you need any more information.

Spacewalk 2.8 (and older) has already reached it's End Of Life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against current version
of Spacewalk 2.9, you are encouraged change the 'version' and re-open it.
