patch to fix this bug

After right-clicking on a note and deselecting the "Auto Spell Check" options, spell check is actually disabled. However, if the application is closed and restarted (both manually in the same KDE session and when KDE is restarted, e.g. after reboot) spell checking is enabled again. This happens for every note I create.

The patch has been upstreamed by Ivan into kdepim and the fix will be available in 4.11.3.
