screen shot of current behav.

Description of problem:

1) added a new external provider (image)
2) refreshed GUI (unless I cannot see new changes)
3) expanded tree view

current results: couldn't find my new external provider!

expected results: either show the images in the main external provider or find another way to integrate this view

Comment 3 Ayal Baron 2014-01-27 12:56:52 UTC
This is true to any external provider.
The providers are not part of any DC atm and have no root of their own in the tree view.

note: changes (any type of changes - not only "external providers" ones) are not reflected automatically in the tree; you need to use the tree-refresh-button, as demonstrated in the attached screen-cast.

[this is a known issue and tracked via bug 879077]

if you are adding a provider and then clicking the tree-refresh-button - the newly-added provider is displayed in the tree under the 'External Providers' node - tested on ovirt-3.4 (see attachment 857244 [details]).

moving to MODIFIED.

External providers are now listed in the tree pane after adding them to RHEV and refreshing the browser.

Verified using ovirt-engine-webadmin-portal-3.4.0-0.11.beta3.el6.noarch

Elad, please note that you don't need to refresh the entire browser in order to see the new provider displayed in the tree - it should be enough to click on the System tree 'refresh' button (see attachment 865178 [details]) right after adding the provider into the system - is that the case?

Indeed, the refresh button inside the tree pane works for that

excellent - thanks for confirming that.
