Description David Kuchler 2003-08-11 16:10:23 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20030225

Description of problem:
When changing the default printer through redhat-config-printer (-gui or -tui),
the default printer in GNOME Print Manager does not change. This leads to
erratic printer selection in various applications. Restarting CUPS service does
not help.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
redhat-config-printer-0.6.47.9-1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open GNOME Print Manager, note default printer
2. Close GPM, change default printer via redhat-config-printer (-gui or -tui)
3. Close redhat-config-printer, saving if applicable
4. Re-open GPM, and note default printer

Actual Results: Default printer in GNOME Print Manager remained the same

Expected Results: GNOME Print Manager should reflect the changed default
printer that was selected in redhat-config-printer

Additional info:

Comment 1 Tim Waugh 2003-08-11 16:14:00 UTC
redhat-config-printer changes the *system* default printer, i.e. the default
which is used in absence of the *user* default printer -- which is what
gnome-print-manager adjusts.

Same as with 'lpoptions -d ...'.
