Could you please specify what video hardware you have, and also attach your X server log file and config file from a failed attempt to start X, as there is no clear "bug" per se. from your above report. ie: nothing to go on If you require technical assistance in obtaining this information, you might also want to join one of the Red Hat or XFree86 mailing lists. Hope this helps. There's no response for 5 months to my above requests, so I'm assuming the problem no longer occurs whatever it was, and closing as 'NOTABUG'. If the problem does persist however, Red Hat no longer supports Red Hat Linux 8.0 or earlier releases, so please upgrade your system to Red Hat Linux 9, Fedora Core 1, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 to see if the problem is resolved in our current product offerings. |
