If I switch to normal user (not root) - the icon is fine. This request was not resolved in time for the current release. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. *** Bug 1151271 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** More info is in bug 1096772. So this bug should be duped to it. However, I am not sure if that can be done in regard to bug permissions/visibility.
