I'd guess this is an issue with DRM for your chipset. Allways (with older Kernels), ps aux showed that "/usr/bin/X11/X :0 - auth /var/gdm/:0.Xauth" was using more percent of CPU than others. With the new Kernel (2.4.20-20.7), when I run some screensaver, the CPU percent increases continuously, rising the 99%. I have another PC, with ATI Mach64, that also in the XFree86.0.log file, every few minutes, the next three lines are included: GetModeLine - scrn: 0 clock: 94500 GetModeLine - hdsp: 1024 hbeg: 1072 hend: 1168 httl: 1376 vdsp: 768 vbeg: 769 vend: 772 vttl: 808 flags: 5 Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
