Description of problem:

I put the laptop to sleep by closing the lid.  Wake it up my pressing the power button.  A few seconds later it goes to sleep again.  Waking the second time sticks.

Hard to say what's going on with you.

I experienced something similar recently, that upower initially reported battery at 0% upon resume, and then the "low battery" action kicked in, see bug #1025980

or bug #1027059  , another case where upower may report battery at 0%, so low power actions are triggered
