As you may already be aware, Red Hat is transitioning from the Red Hat Network (RHN) hosted interface to the Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) interface in July 2017. Red Hat has invested in and seen success from RHN for many years, and used that experience to build more robust technologies like RHSM. If you have not yet migrated your RHN systems to RHSM or you are a Red Hat Satellite customer, please review the information from. https://access.redhat.com/products/red-hat-subscription-management#migration. Description of problem: Attempting to add rhn-plugin (Spacewalk/Satellite/Red Hat Network Server) repository? to yum, hoping to make my installed fc18 system run a little better. Installed yum-rhn-plugin along with dependencies via yumex Created rhn.redhat.com account (login name and password) Tried to register for software updates thru System > RHN Registration GUI and received the following error message: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem registering system: Error communicating with server. The message was: Error Class Code: 70 Error Class Info: All available subscriptions for the requested channel have been exhausted. Please contact a Red Hat Network Sales associate. Explanation: An error has occurred while processing your request. If this problem persists please enter a bug report at bugzilla.redhat.com. If you choose to submit the bug report, please be sure to include details of what you were trying to do when this error occurred and details on how to reproduce this problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Linux Fedora 18 How reproducible: step thru window dialog via System > RHN Registration GUI assistant to register for software updates Steps to Reproduce: 1. Tried to register for software updates thru System > RHN Registration GUI Actual results: error message Expected results: connection to Red Hat (Spacewalk/Satellite/Red Hat Network Server) Additional info: I'm assuming that this plugin is for Linux Fedora 18 installed system. Otherwise - why list yum-rhn-plugin at all in the fedora repository?? Thank you for any assistance!!
