Description wdaniel 2013-11-26 18:42:22 UTC
Description of problem:

Customer is in a secure environment (no logs available) and says that he uses an SSH tunnel and launches firefox to get to the Admin Portal. Once there he can launch the spice console, but there is no functionality inside it.

From customer:
At this time a window appears and seems to be functioning, but when I click the window the mouse and keyboard no longer work. I've tried "F1-12", with ctrl, shift, and alt and several different combination's, still with the same result.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

spice-gtk-0.14-7.el6_4.3.x86_64
spice-vdagent-0.12.0-4.el6_4.1.x86_64
spice-client-0.8.2-15.el6.x86_64
spice-server-0.12.0-12.el6_4.5.x86_64
spice-glib-0.14-7.el6_4.3.x86_64
spice-xpi-2.7-22.el6.x86_64
rhevm-spice-client-x86-cab-3.2-13.el6ev.noarch
firefox-17.0.10-1.el6_4.x86_64

How reproducible:

I've not been able to reproduce this myself, but the customer says this is 100% reproducible in his environment

Steps to Reproduce:

1. SSH to the RHEVM host.
2. Login as a generic user.
3. Launch firefox (firefox &).
4. Type in the location of your manager in the address line.
5. Select the "Administrator Portal".
6. Login as admin.
7. On a running vm configured for spice select the console.

Actual results:
Spice console does not accept keyboard or mouse input

Expected results:
Keyboard and mouse work as expected

Additional Notes:

As mentioned, I do have access to any sort of logs as the customer is in a secure environment.

Do you run firefox in the ssh session (with X redirection?)

What version of RHEVM? is it configured to use XPI?

Yes please, spice-gtk log (SPICE_DEBUG=1) would be helpful.

Yes, firefox is launched with X redirection, and as far as I know XPI is set up. Customer is running 3.2, I believe 3.2.2.

Also, that was a typo on my part. We do *not* have access to logs due to the secure nature of the environment.

I've tried this with 3.2 and 3.3 on my Fedora laptop, and on my RHEL 6 desktop. Neither had any issues with it. Are there any other troubleshooting steps I could pass on to the customer?

Why is this filed against the Windows QXL driver? Customer case is closed, should we close this bug too?
