Description of problem:

if not is there an alternative mechanism that warns about xfs project quotas?
would be great to have it implemented in warnquota too.

Project quotas are specific to XFS and do not fit into general Linux disk quota subsystem. Thus I cannot see a way how add it into Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

However you can file a feature request in the upstream tracking system <http://sourceforge.net/p/linuxquota/feature-requests/>.

If you still persist on support in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux, please contact your Red Hat support representative.

it would be nice to have it since it seems xfs is going to be default in rhel 7
