Description Jeremy Harris 2013-12-01 15:00:59 UTC
Description of problem:
Trying to locate documentation on virt-manager. The "help" menu has an "about" entry, but nothing that actually provides useful documentation. The project website is useless. The manpage isn't helpful.

For ref, I actually wanted detail on the uses of "view/snapshots" and "virtual machine/clone...".

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
 0.10.0

How reproducible:
 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start virt-manager.
2. Hunt for help
3.

Actual results:
 No help.

Expected results:
 Help.

It's not that it doesn't 'link to help', it's that there truly is no UI documentation. If someone wants to show up and do the work I'll be happy to integrate it, but it's a pretty big undertaking and people largely seem to get by fine without it.

Moving to the upstream tracker

TBH this is likely never going to happen. Seems like UI docs like this are kinda on the way out anyways... even a heavily desktop integrated app like gnome-software doesn't seem to have any that I can tell

If someone is interested in contributing here, I'd prefer wiki pages or even blog posts
